Abbreviations:

  • SC - Single Crochet
  • INC – Increase
  • DEC – Decrease
  • STS – Stitches
  • SLST – Slip Stitch

Pro Tip: Always place a stitch marker on the first SC of each round to make counting your stitches easier!


Head:

  • Round 1: 6 SC in a magic ring = (6 STS)
  • Round 2: 6 INC = (12 STS)
  • Round 3: (SC, INC) x 6 = (18 STS)
  • Round 4: (SC, SC, INC) x 6 = (24 STS)
  • Round 5: (SC, SC, SC, INC) x 6 = (30 STS)
  • Round 6: (SC, SC, SC, SC, INC) x 6 = (36 STS)
  • Rounds 7-12: SC all around = (36 STS), 6 rows

Shaping the Head: 

  • Round 13: (SC, SC, SC, DEC) x 6 = (30 STS) 
  • Round 14: (SC, SC, SC, DEC) x 6 = (24 STS) 
  • Round 15: (SC, SC, DEC) x 6 = (18 STS)

Add stuffing to shape the head.

  • Round 16: (SC, DEC) x 6 = (12 STS)

Add more stuffing to firm up the head before closing.

  • Round 17: 6 DEC = (6 STS)

- Leave a long tail for sewing, cut the yarn.
- Weave the yarn into the front loops 6 times and pull to close.
- Secure by inserting the needle through the center, pulling the yarn ends inside.


Ears (Make Two):

  • Round 1: 6 SC in a magic ring = (6 STS)
  • Round 2: 6 INC = (12 STS)
  • Round 3: 10 SC, DEC over the last 2 STS, then SLST
Leave a long tail for sewing, cut the yarn.

Nose (Purple Yarn):

  1. Chain 5
  2. From the second chain from hook, work 3 SC and turn your work.
  3. Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly:

  • Sew the Ears: Position the ears on top of the head, slightly curved.
  • Attach the Nose: Center the nose below the eyes.
  • Place Safety Eyes: Secure the eyes on the head for that iconic KOYA look.
  • Attach Keychain Ring: Secure it at the top, between the ears.

Materials used:

  • Alize cotton gold (white, yellow, black)
  • 2.5mm crochet hook
  • 6mm safety eyes
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • Stuffing
  • Keychain ring

Abbreviations:

  • SC - Single stitch
  • INC – Increase
  • DEC – Decrease

  • Round 11-12: (sc in each sts) = (42), 2 rows
  • Round 13: (sc, sc, sc, sc, sc, dec) x 6 times = (36)
  • Round 14: (sc, sc, sc, sc, dec) x 6 times = (30)
  • Round 15: (sc, sc, sc, dec) x 6 times = (24)

Insert the safety eyes: between round 8-9, 3 sts apart.

Fill in stuffing.

  • Round 16: (sc, sc, dec) x 6 times = (18)
  • Round 17: (sc, dec) x 6 times = (12)

Fill in more stuffing before closing the rounds.

  • Round 18: (6 dec) (6)

Leave a long tail for sewing, cut the yarn. Insert the yarn ends into the needle. Weave in by inserting your needle in front loops 6 times, pull the yarn.

Insert the needle into the very center of the hole, then pull the yarn ends to hide it well inside.


Hoodie: (Yellow yarn)

  • Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring = (6)
  • Round 2: 6 inc = (12)
  • Round 3: sc, inc x 6 = (18)
  • Round 4: sc, sc, inc x 6 = (24)
  • Round 5: sc, sc, sc, inc x 6 = (30)

  • Round 8-12: sc in each sts = (42), 5 rows
  • Round 13: sc, sc, sc, sc, sc, dec = (36)
  • Round 14: sc, sc, sc, sc, dec = (30)
  • Round 15: sc, sc, sc, dec = (24)

Ear: (Black yarn)

  • Round 1: 6 sc in a magic ring = (6)
  • Round 2: 6 inc = (12)
  • Round 3-4: sc in each sts = (12), 2 rows
  • Round 5: 10 sc, dec = (11)
  • Round 6: sc in each sts = (11)
  • Round 7: 9 sc, dec = (10)
  • Round 8: 8, dec = (9)
  • Round 9: 7, dec = (8)
  • Round 10: dec, sl st

Leave a long tail for sewing then cut the yarn.

Make 2 pcs.


Final Assembly:

  • Sew the Ears: Position the ears on each side of the head and sew securely.
  • Embroider the Face: Use black yarn for the nose and mouth, and a touch of red yarn for the tongue.
  • Attach the Keychain Ring: Sew or clip the ring securely at the top.
