Hi Stitchers,
Winter is hands-down my favorite season… which is kind of funny, because I’ve never actually seen real snow 😅
The closest I’ve gotten is that magical (and very chilly!) patch of indoor snow at Ski Dubai in the Mall of the Emirates. Not exactly a full-blown winter wonderland, but hey snow is snow, right? Haha.
A couple of years ago, when I was just starting out with tutorials, I filmed a video for this snowflake granny square, full of cozy winter vibes and beginner energy.. I rewatched it recently (after someone left a very honest comment and kindly pointed out the chaos 😂), and yeah… it was definitely a little rough around the edges and turned out a little more chaotic than I remembered 😂 (Classic beginner chaos.)
But hey, it was made with love!. 🌷
And since actual snow isn’t showing up anytime soon, I figured it was time to give this pattern the cozy rewrite it deserves: something clear, easy to follow, and just as heartfelt as before.
Life’s been a little extra lately (isn’t it always?), so I haven’t had a chance to re-film the video just yet. But don’t worry, a new one is definitely on my list once things settle down. You’ll find the original video at the end of this blog, just in case you're curious or brave enough to give it a go 😂
In the meantime, I hope this pattern brings a little dreamy winter feeling to your hook, wherever you are and whatever the weather ❄️🤍
This snowflake granny square is my soft tribute to winter simple, delicate, and full of handmade charm.

And there you have it, a little snowfall for your hook.
This snowflake motif is perfect for all sorts of wintery creations: cozy blankets, festive coasters, holiday garlands, or even stitched onto gift bags and cards ❄️✨
It’s simple, delicate, and adds that soft, handmade charm to whatever you’re making.
I hope you had fun making it, even just a little. I know it’s a simple pattern, but sometimes those are the ones that bring the most comfort. Especially when the weather’s hot (like now, it’s full-on summer and no snow anywhere 😅) , but that’s exactly why I made this.
And if you came from the YouTube tutorial, thank you for watching, even if things got a little all over the place haha. When life calms down a bit, I’ll be back with a fresh new tutorial with better angles and all, and hopefully way less chaos 😂
Thank you for being here.
Until then, stay cozy and keep creating, and if you make this square, tag me, or leave a comment, I’d love to see your little snowflakes sparkle.
Until next time, happy stitching ❄️
Crocheted with love,
Mai ❄️🤍
