Meet the Beanie Mayar in Pastel
A snug little hat for the tiniest heads and the biggest cuddles! Designed with beginner stitchers in mind, this pattern is full of softness, pastel charm, and baby giggles. Crochet one for your little love or gift it with warmth and intention.
“Mayar” means glow of the moonlight – and I designed this cozy little hat with love for my niece even before she was born. So I named it after her

If you can double crochet and slip stitch, you’re golden.
Sizes Included
Written for 0–3 months, with tips to adjust for preemies up to 12 months.
➡ Easily adjustable: Just follow the sizing chart or add/remove rounds.

3.5 mm Crochet Hook
Fingering weight cotton yarn (but any yarn will work – just adjust the hook!)Scissors

Abbreviations (US terms)
Ch = Chain
St(s) = Stitch(es)
Sl st = Slip Stitch
Sc = Single Crochet
Dc = Double Crochet
Sk = Skip
Rep = Repeat
Pattern Notes
Ch 2 does not count as a stitch
Join rounds with a sl st to the first dcGauge: 19 dc x 8 rows = 4" x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm)
You can adjust both width and height using our tips below
Sizing Tips – Adjust the Beanie
To increase width (circumference):
Keep increasing the flat circle until your stitch count matches the size you need.
Formula: Head circumference ÷ 3.14 = Crown diameter
To increase height:
Just add more rounds after finishing the crown!
